I had this issue last week when i was trying to launch Brocade Webtools after upgrading Java to version 126.96.36.199.
I was aware that Java security settings has been enhanced starting from 188.8.131.52 This link describes these enhancements: http://docs.oracle.com/javase/7/docs/technotes/guides/security/certpath/CertPathProgGuide.html#AppB From the above link:
Starting from JDK 7u40 release, the default value of
jdk.certpath.disabledAlgorithmsis as follows:
1 <span style="font-family: Open Sans,sans-serif; font-size: 16px;"> jdk.certpath.disabledAlgorithms=MD2, RSA keySize < 1024</span>
This means that no signature algorithm involving MD2 will be used to verify a certificate. And use of certificates with RSA key size of less than 1024 bits in length is restricted. Appendix D has examples of values for
So to fix this issue I changed the RSA key size to 256 which worked fine for me. I opened file “Java.security” located at C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre7\lib\security\ and changed the below line: # Example: # jdk.certpath.disabledAlgorithms=MD2, DSA, RSA keySize < 1024 # # jdk.certpath.disabledAlgorithms=MD2, RSA keySize < 256
