A quick post here about an issue I had last week. One of my Customers was complaining about the the format of one cluster’s datastores appear in UIM/P as RAW instead of VMFS. The easy way to change the datastores format in UIM/P is by using UIM/P Storage Adoption utility (SAU). SAU will allow you to update the UIM/P DB just to make the datastores appear as VMFS instead of RAW. This should not affect the datastores or your production environment. It is just a database update.
Time to explain how to do this!
1- Open your browser and type the URL: https://<UIM_P_IP>/slm/sau then use UIM/P credentials.
2- Click Edit Services from the upper tab.
3- Choose the cluster to edit, In my case it is ClusterPv2. From available functions, Choose “Edit Storage Format” then click Go
4- Change the storage format for the RAW datastores to VMFS then click next at the end of the page.
5- A confirmation message appears for the changed datastores format as shown below.
