In the previous post of VMware vCD 5.5.2 installation – Part 1 I went through the configuration steps required for MSSQL. In the second part of vCD 5.5.2 installation I will go through the steps required to install CentOS 6.6
1- Create a VM with 2 NICs, One will be used for https traffic and the other will be used for ProxyConsole traffic. I configured my VM to have 4 GB RAM and 2 vCPUs.
2- Configure the ISO media and power on the VM.
3- Click Install or upgrade an existing system.
7- Choose Basic Storage devices.8- Set your hostname properly and make sure that DNS is able to resolve this hostname as vCD cell may not work if the hostname cannot be resolved.9- I am taking advantage of using desktop mode so I will configure the network via GUI.10- Set your location preference for the time settings.11- Proceed with the installation and format disk.
12- Choose Desktop install and leave all default settings.13- The installation starts now and should take 10 minutes to complete.14- The last step will be to disable the firewall (In a production environment, you proabably will add firewall exception for port 443)
# service iptables save
# service iptables stop
# chkconfig iptables off
Now the vcloud-driector.bin installation should work fine. This will be covered in my next post. Stay tuned…
